How to come |
There are two ways to get to Santorini. One is by ferry and the other is by direct flight. Ferries take travelers to Santorini from the neighboring islands, such as Amorgos, Folegandros, Ios and Mykonos. It usually takes less than five hours for these ferries to arrive at Santorini. There are also ferries that sail regularly to Santorini from Piraeus in Athens on the Greek mainland, as well as from Heraklion in Crete. The trip from Heraklion to Santorini will take about 5 hours, but if you take the flying cat (catamaran) instead, your trip will last approximately 2 hours. The island of Santorini is served by the Santorini National Airport. There are daily direct flights to Santorini from mainland Greece, Crete and Mykonos. Foreign airlines also take travelers to Santorini directly from other cities in Europe.
